Ryoji Ikeda Posters

Ryoji Ikeda is an ‘audiovisual’ artist who’s work is based on heavily electronic sound, represented visually with large, animated installations that have an accompanying post-modernist, digital aesthetic.

The imagery was produced with a modified an open-source Java script.

The script extrudes an image's pixels in 3D based on their Brightness; lighter pixels extrude further than darker ones. The processed 3D image must have be rotated somewhat to be able to see the protrusion of the pixels, which is why each of the posters appears at an odd angle. The script extrudes an image's pixels in 3D based on their Brightness; lighter pixels extrude further than darker ones.
