The t-shirt design below is styled and coloured to look like a retro artefact from the around the 70's - a reference to the founding of Brompton Bikes. The Icon on the t-shirt uses the existing Brompton triptych combined with Bauhaus, a popular modernist style which is very much associated with the cycling culture.
I wouldn’t usually adulterate a brand's logo in such a way but when designing for t-shirts, one seems to get more creative freedom than usual.
A total of 3 of these t-shirt designs are currently sold in stores and online.
September demo month was a 2017 promotion which allowed people to borrow a Brompton bike for 24 hours. I was in charge with designing and producing posters, flyers and social media assets for Brompton stores in the UK, Holland and Italy. Through visual communication, I wanted to say - 'it maybe September, but it still feels like summer'.
